John Hart Generating Station Replacement Project

The BCUC approved BC Hydro’s $1.2 billion application to replace the John Hart generating station near Campbell River, BC. The existing six unit powerhouse will be replaced with a three unit powerhouse with a capacity of 128 MW (currently rated at 118 MW), and the station will be updated to address reliability, seismic and environmental concerns. The first unit is target for completion in the fall of 2017, the second and third units are targeted for completion in winter 2018.
