LNG Export Licence

On Feb 4, 2013, the NEB announced the approval of a long-term export licence to LNG Canada Development Inc. (LNG Canada) to export liquefied natural gas from the terminal proposed by the Shell consortium in Kitimat.  LNG Canada is a joint venture comprising Shell, Korea Gas Corp., Mitsubishi Corp. and PetroChina International. The 25-year export licence will allow for up to 24 million tonnes of LNG to be exported each year. The daily equivalent is 3.23 billion cubic feet per day.
